Elgin Open Gardens Sat 31st Oct - Sun 1st Nov & Sat 7th - Sun 8th Nov 2020

How was lock down for you? Are you champing at the bit to get some fresh air, experience open spaces and enjoy some fantastic beauty? Add to that excellent food and wine and the parcel seems irresistible.

Over the final weekend of October Elgin will once again be opening up seven gardens to the public, each one supporting a different project. That’s the heart of this slice of the Overberg; in this part of the world many say, “Lets see if we can help others as we do something beautiful!”

Two years ago when the Western Cape was on the verge of disaster as dams emptied, reaching critical levels and pessimists prepared for Day Zero, the Elgin fruit growers of the Groenland Water Users Association released approximately 10 million cubic meters of water to help the Mother City. Helping others as they did something beautiful. Drought was averted.

24 months later our dams are overflowing - a perfect example of give and it will be given to you!

Abundant rains mean that the gardens are prolific and plants that are on sale are healthy and ready for your own garden. Come, bring a friend and explore the variety of Open Gardens; we can promise you that you wont be disappointed and please stop for a delicious lunch at Keubos Nursery as we raise funds for the excellent work of Siphila Sonke - after all #welivetogether.
